How Do You Compare To The Looters?

The question for this post is : How do we all compare to the “yobs” that carried out the riots in the UK recently?

As you can probably tell this post is going to be very controversial.
It requires everyone, whether your white, black, Asian, Muslim, christian, Sikh, upper class,lower class, a person, a company or even a government to take a step back and look at yourselves with an open mind before you criticize others.

One thing I want to make perfectly clear before I start. At NO point in this post will you see any sentence that states the rioters are good people. I do not condone what they are doing and to be perfectly honest I am ashamed of them ! You only have to listen to my track about the riots to see that !
Do You know What Your Fighting For?

However by saying that, I have to step away from the fact that I think everything I do is perfect and admit that by being ashamed of them, I must also be ashamed of myself and 90% of the world. Let me explain…

Take out the setting fire to innocent peoples homes, take out the violence part of the riots just focus on the “looting aspect”. The actual smashing up of shop fronts and stealing the items inside is where you need to focus.

What are the affects? The window is smashed, the shop has lost money and potentially some people have lost their job.

Now lets look at a working/ middle class person that owns their own company. They have a decent education so they are clever enough to have learned all the tricks to get away with out paying as much tax as potentially they should. They have two or three “company cars”, a “company secretary”, they have to have “business meetings in a pub at lunch time”. The Government are making cuts in budgets all over the place. People who work for companies have to pay correct tax, it’s worked out for them! So we are not only covering for these “yobs” without jobs, but also your rich neighbour who only has so much “digital money” because of greed. Yep that’s right, greed, the same thing that these “yobs” have ! oh and I say “digital money” because if everyone went to the bank and withdrew their money, it wouldn’t exist ! So there are people out there starving in a sense because certain people would rather have a number on their bank account read £1m than £750,000.

 

 

So now imagine the new playground the government could have built in your park if these people paid the right taxes. It’s not there because it couldn’t be afforded. Is this not the exact same as smashing up the playground if it were to exist?

 

 

 

 

What else can we compare? How about illegal file downloading? One hundred “yobs” kick HMV’S door in and steal 100 £1 Cd’s. What a bunch of crooked youth ! How about 100 differen’t people downloading 100 songs for free, illegally?
Sure they didn’t kick a door in and make it obvious but had they not have stolen all these files, perhaps HMV would still be open. They don’t have any “buildings anymore” because people stole from them (in a nice and friendly way). However they don’t have any buildings/ shops anymore ! Is this not the same as going and knocking the door down and damaging their property?

 

 

People who use credit. How many people own a credit card or take out loans for things they can’t afford? Before I continue let’s quote a re-appearing phrase. “These yobs need to go out and get a job and earn instead of taking what they can’t afford”. Point is the media/ government and banks all control us. We ALL wan’t something we can’t afford because the perfect life is flashed at us on every T.V, Billboard and radio. If these “yobs” should go and earn what they want then why don’t me and you do it too? That’s just for the people who pay back what they borrow. How about the people that intentionally get credit with no intent to pay it back. You think you rip the banks off? Think again. Who do you think is paying for your sophisticated way of stealing? Every other person that DO pay their loans/ bills on time. Next year the bank just “project” how much they will lose based on last years loss rate, and hike up the interest on new products so that it doesn’t matter who doesn’t pay back. So that’s you, me and your poor mother who’s never missed a bill in her life having to pay for your “sophisticated stealing”. Now she can’t afford that new extension on the house. The extension doesn’t exist now ! Is that not the same as some “yob” breaking it down with a sledge hammer?

Benefit thieves. I think you know where I’m going with this one. How many people don’t declare certain work. Or pretend to be disabled when they are refereeing for a Sunday football team every weekend. How much are they costing the economy? How many more families could have an extra £15 a week to live on if people didn’t “sophisticatedly steal” from the benefits system? Is that not the same as some yob grabbing your nans bag of shopping on the way home, except in a non intrusive/ obvious way?

 

 

 

The government. OK who can tell me how much the Iraq war has cost? Who can tell me we are not primarily there to get oil? That’s right to steal oil! You all moan about petrol prices so much that it doesn’t bother you where it comes from. As long as you have plausible deniability. It’s not in your face so it’s not looting. is that it? Water. Does any one even know how many mini wars have been fought over which country owns a fresh water river running through the middle of them? Does anyone actually realise that most major cities, especially in America, have water supplies diverted from miles away to keep up with demand. Villages and small towns outside of big cities being looted in aclever way for their water ! Second homes, expenses the list goes on. Even these “yobs” in some way shape or form are contributing something towards a politicians new porn collection ! Whether it be through council tax however small it is or even the fact that most porn involves some underpaid slave that has no other opportunity !

Now lets look at drugs. The youth of today are a bunch of “druggie black young worthless scum” would probably generalise most peoples opinions pretty well?
Why? Because they are young and the drug in question is weed?
How about the upper class business men who binge on cocaine at rich house parties. Oh, but they are middle aged,white and in their own house so they arn’t druggie yobs right?
So that doesn’t count because they can afford “posh drugs” and a nice flat in London? Do they not have blood on their hands when you take a few steps back and now your in some 3rd world country where a corrupt drug lord is killing people to stay top dog and provide that drug to you? How is this not a metaphor for “blood diamond” !

Charities. This is probably the most controversial yet. Has any one seen these charity workers going around asking you to sign up for a year of £2 a month donations to save a child? Do you know how much commission these people are paid by the charities? Some average £30 !! Yep so how many months before your money even starts getting to these kids that are starving? Do you think the top dog of these charities lives on a council estate? Open your eyes people. you could open your own “charity shop” tomorrow and give lots of money to a good cause. As long as it’s registered, you now have the ability to say, but the rent on that shop was, my time costs £80 per day, the Internet (which is mainly personal use) cost’s a fortune… all of a sudden your now making money, but it’s for a good cause so what the hell. Oh but such and such company is giving £3m to charities every year how nice of them. You mean they can report it as a “loss” and get into the next tax bracket down and pay less tax.

What’s my point and what’s the solution?
Well my point is we are quick to point the finger at other individuals/cultures/classes but in reality the only difference between us is our METHOD for obtaining something we do not deserve. That’s me included !
The outcome is still the same though including loss of life and property. Somewhere if you take your actions back far enough, someone is suffering !

Point is we are all looters, we just get more clever at deceiving people as we move up the classes. That or the rest of us are that desensitized to being puppets we just let it happen and give up hope of seeing a change?

Is it time we start taking barriers down and start realising we are all pretty much here for the same reason and not that different? I think so !

I applaud the Asian community during these times because from what I can see the white person is too blind to see what we are doing wrong as a society.
We hate on them because they apparently are closed off from the rest of us?
No WE are closed off from each other and don’t like the fact that they are united! They live like we used to, in communities and look out for each other.
They know that buying food in a multi million pound food chain, means money exits their community and feeds the share holders/ millionair owners lifestyle. So why not spend their money in a local owned store where that shop owner will also spend their money in the same community and so on. Why not stand united infront of their row of shops against the rioters? We were too busy posting face book messages about what we WOULD do whilst they were actually going out, not waiting to see if their mates would join in, and standing together. Then three of their people get killed. For God sake people open your eyes. We are so quick to say Asians are this or that. They just lost three of their people and instead of fueling the riots like the media, instead of branding white/ black people as this that or the other, they actually stood up in-front of 5000 white, black and asian people and said don’t you dare start race wars in my sons/ brother/ husbands name. If that would have been a white man/ black man could you say that you would unite your community and spread peace like that?

So I guess there is no solution, but one things for certain I was very ashamed that day. Ashamed at myself and at my nation. But it has to be said, I haven’t seen white people, Asian people or black people unite like this since for ever and that made me proud ! Whether you were looting together, or rallying for peace together, we stood together and forgot about our colours for a day.

That has to be a positive doesn’t it?
